Three Dog Night

It may cost more to see and hear this facsimile of a 70's band than is worth your hard earned money. If you live in SBY and will drive to OC this weekend to experience this group, it may not be cost effective.I drive a 4-cylinder SUV that gets around 30 MPG.At $3.50 per gallon+ Bus Fare +Food+Drink+The Hassle=I think that I will stay home and see and hear 3 Pup Evening on youtube!

Postmodern Blues (Side B)

(I talked to my brother last night and vented my frustrations with what I am going through in this daily adventure that us mortals call life. What I am going through is minuscule compared to his dilemma in life. His advice to me was to appeal to a "higher up", transfer or quit. The best advice that he gave me was to listen to the cassette that he recorded for me a decade ago. Just my luck, my cassette player DON'T WORK. That's O.K., I have the plastic case and the line up of artists and I have access to youtube. I posted (Side A) yesterday and I will post (Side B) today. I may not get through it all, but tomorrow is another day).

I(n) Like Flint

Flint, Michigan reminds me of two things. Buicks and Grand Funk Railroad.
My father, who would buy a new car every 2 years or less had two Buick automobiles between 1964 and 1967. The first was a '65 Wildcat, followed by a '66 or '67 LeSabre. I never drove either, but my older brother told me that the LeSabre would flat out move! In my opinion, Buick made some nice looking cars. But no longer!
Grand Funk Railroad, though not one of my favorites, was one of the first "Power Bands" to emerge from the 1960's. The fact that they are not in the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" is a travesty.
I long for the good old days, when you could tell the year, make and model of a car from a glance a quarter mile away. And when you could hear three chords of a song and know the name and band.
Here's to the good old days!

Here's To Better Days

That's "Brownie"!

I was born in a small town. We had a dog that wandered. He was a good dog. He was a mutt. For a day or two he went missing.I remember my Mother going to the corner grocery store and finding our dog sleeping on the front step. She tried to get him into the car by calling out his name. The owner of the store came out and said " Ma'am, if that is your dog then please take him home. But that dog's name is not what you are calling him and he will not respond. We call him "Brownie". I think that dog just liked to wander. I like to wander also. However, wandering on the internet ain't what it used to be. Youtube sucks, Blogger.com sucks and Pogo.com sucks! Everything Sucks! No wonder I want to quit!

2" x 2" Refrigerator Magnet

"Liberalism is a pessimistic faith because it never sees the potential in man, just his flaws. Rather than focusing on ways to free people so they can elevate themselves, liberalism instead concentrates on ways to subsidize people in their current misery.Liberalism is embarrassed by success and prosperity because independent and free people do not need liberals - above all, liberals need to be needed"(Cal Thomas).

Those words of wisdom (on a faded and yellowed 2"x2"newspaper cut out) are taped to the top door of my Kelvinator refrigerator/freezer. Also on that door are two photographs. One was taken almost 50 years ago and is of my sister and I dancing in the den. The other was taken almost 20 years ago and is of my child and I building a snowman in the backyard.

The point here is that I want to be reminded on a daily basis of the past, the present and the future. The past is my memory of my late sister. The present is the same old pledge by the same old Democratic hopefuls that nothing will change; We've got your back, slackers-just vote for us. The future is looking bright for my child(who will soon graduate from college and enter the tax paying workforce) as long as the liberals don't tax her out of existence.

498 known gang members

Chief S. Danog was transporting 2 defendants (rival gang members) and a bag of evidence to a court hearing when they came to a river. The drawbridge was stuck in the open position because the work crew for Acme Bridge Maintenance had quit the job because the check had bounced. Chief OG had a dilemma. He needed to get "FoxZ", who never did drugs and "rrrHABIT", who habitually did drugs and the evidence across the river for a 9 o'clock appearance. OG found a log that was just large enough to allow himself and the evidence, or himself and one of the defendants , to cross at a time. The problem was that if he took the evidence across, the two gang members would kill each other. If he took "FoxZ" across, "rrrHABIT" would smoke the evidence. Using just the log, how can the Chief safely transport the 2 defendants and the evidence across the river?

Update: All 3 + the evidence made court on time. The fox and the rabbit got "Nol Prossed" and the evidence disappeared. Chief OG took the long way home, as the bridge was still upright. ABM fixed the bridge later that day when the bill was paid with a credit card. Can YOU figure out how the Chief solved the dilemma?

Have a good day!

It Is What It Is?

"It is a far,far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; It is a far,far better rest that I go to, than I have ever known."

The "G" is Missing.

I have started the "New Year" with a new blog, and I have already screwed up(or have I?). My first blog was titled after an album that my sister received on Christmas Day 1970.That title was available this summer when I started that aforementioned blog. From the "git go", my intention was to include my musical gift from that day in 1970. Blogger.com does not allow (spaces) or (punctuation marks). I tried several times to get approval for the title of my blog with no luck. The big "i" and the little "I" did not work. I thought outside the box and used the little"L".BINGO! Looks like a big "i" to me! However, the title of the album was not...Lookin' In...It was Looking In. The "G" is missing. I almost guarantee that the title...Looking In...is not available either. Some photog or peeping tom has already scooped that one up.Whatever, I got what I needed and that is all that matters!

See Ya Later, Alli ator!
